Bulls beat Mentors, return home to Defenders

Gombe Bulls have maintained a good run in the regular season of the Kwese Premier Basketball League hitting hosts Mark Mentors 75-70 in a match played in Abuja on Thursday. The win kept the Bulls as joint leaders with reigning champions Kano Pillars of the Savannah Conference with 36 points.
The Bulls were on the road on Friday as they made the return journey to Gombe where they are billed to host the defenders. Their road trip made it quite difficult for Extrasportsnigeria.com correspondent to reach the Bulls coach Abdul Mohammed on the telephone on Friday. The Bulls are tipped to take the full points against the Defenders in the Saturday game. The Defenders were hosts to Bauchi Nets on Thursday and won the game 63-60 before embarking on the journey to Gombe.
In some other Savannah result from Thursday, Pillars defeated Plateau Peaks 83-65 while Kada Stars beat Niger Potters 56-53.
In the Atlantic Conference rookies Hoops & Read pulled down a big result as they defeated hosts Delta Force 88-71 in Asaba. Rivers Hoopers expectedly defeated NAF Rockets 87-54.
Customs will host Kwara Falcons in the first match of Lagos on Saturday. After the game, Police Baton and Oluyole Warriors will step out at the same National Stadium venue.
