The 2019 AfroBasket for Women will tip off in Dakar on Saturday.

The Nigerian queens left their Eko Hotel abode in Lagos on Wednesday after two weeks of camping. The camping for the 2019 defence began in July in the United States of America.

The countdown to the Lagos-Dakar flight began Sunday night when their specially designed uniforms for the 2019 competition was unveiled by their partners AFA Sports in lovely D’Tigress fans party held in Victoria Island.

AFA Sports CEO Ugo Udezue spoilt the ladies and their gathered fans with AFA branded gifts.

He told the ladies: “We’ve been with you right from your early days. AFA Sports understands how you’ve grown from little or nothing to such a great team and asset. We are proud of you knowing how hard you’ve worked to reach and stay at the top.

“At AFA Sports we believe in you and would do everything necessary to stand with you.

“This set of jersey is of the highest quality like the others. But we’ve made this special for D’Tigress brand. And that’s why it has the touch of the African traditional clothing. So go and be the champions that you are.”
