Enugu Rangers, Katsina win rescheduled games
Enugu Rangers recorded their second victory of the season, after defeating Lobi Stars 2-1 in their rescheduled Week 7 match of the Nigeria league.
The defending champions, currently 17th on the table, got to a flying start when former Enyimba player Daniel Etor took advantage of a defensive error from the Makurdi-based side to open scoring on 21 minutes. Eduwo Kingsley equalized from the penalty spot rebounding the penalty he initially missed.
Bobby Clement however had the final word for Rangers at the 90th minute, heading in the winning goal, to make Lobi Stars lose their first NPFL match in five games.
At the Muhammadu Dikko Stadium in Katsina, Katsina United won 1-0 against FC IfeanyiUbah, with Destiny Ashadi’s 45th minute penalty making the difference, in a rather silent match.
In another rescheduled week seven game, Rivers United were held to a 1-1 draw at home by Kano Pillars who picked their first point on the road this season.
Ghanaian striker, Godbless Asamoah, had put the home side ahead on the dot of half time, while Amos Gyang levelled scores for Kadiri Ikhana’s men in the 57th minute for their first away goal this season.
A twist was however added when Chris Madaki got a red card, as a result of two yellow cards he received in the game.
