MFM beat Tornadoes 3-0, coach blames pressure

Niger Tornadoes kicked off their 2016/17 Nigeria Professional Football League season on a faulty note as they lost to MFM 3-0 at the Agege Stadium in Lagos on Sunday.

MFM players practically ran riot, scoring 3 goals in the first half with strikes from Stephen Odeh, Olatunbosun Sikiru and Adegboyega Adekunle.

The Tornadoes coach Abubakar Bala who spoke with reporters after the game insisted that his side were under pressure and didn’t convert their opportunities.

He said, “I feel very disappointed; it’s really a bad start. As you could see from the first half we gave away the match by allowing them to play and even before their goal we got our little chances but we refused to convert them.

“When you lose your chances you are always punished for it. We were punished in the first half but we came out in the second half with a better plan.

“We were under pressure it’s not good to start this way, but the good thing is that we have identified our weak areas and we plan to improve on them before our next match.”

The coach however assured fans of a victory against ABS of Ilorin.
