Super Eagles captain, Mikel Obi is said to be very keen to continue his life in China despite having recently ending his contract with Tianjin Teda and becoming a free agent.
Reports from Asia indicate that the former Chelsea midfielder may not be in hurry to leave China having settled down even though the transfer market updates suggest otherwise.
A report on Sports radio, Brila FM among others, states that the Nigeria international would be remaining in China, at least for the forthcoming season.
Nigeria coach Gernot Rohr had advised Eagles Odion Ighalo to capitalise on the drop of his club to switch back to Europe and could be hoping for similar move from his captain that has not played for Nigeria since the 2018 World Cup in Russia.
Mikel is believed to be on his way to Beijing Sinobo Guoan. The Capital City club are thought to be monitoring the former Chelsea star and could make a move for the Nigerian.
The Super Eagles captain spent two seasons at Tianjin Teda, giving three assists and scoring three goals from the defensive midfield position.
