Pinnick appointed AFCON president

President of the Nigeria Football Federation, Amaju Pinnick has been appointed as President of the Africa Cup of Nations, Extrasportsnigeria.com reports.

His latest position was announced on Monday at a CAF Executive Committee meeting held in Manama, Bahrain. Pinnick who is also a CAF Executive member has also been appointed as Head of the Media Committee of the continental body.

The Nigeria federation on Monday confirmed the positions with a posting on its twitter handle, “NFF President Amaju Pinnick has just been appointed President of AFCON and Media Committees of CAF.”

Pinnick is therefore to be in charge of all Africa Cup of Nations, as the head of organizing committee.

The NFF boss accepted a congratulation message sent by us Monday afternoon.

CAF also named President of Ghana Football Association, Kwesi Nyantakyi as the 1st Vice President and Congolese Constant Omari the second Vice President of CAF respectively. SAFA President, Danny Jordan was also appointed chairman of the Marketing and TV Committee, while former Zambia FA President and African football legend, Kalusha Bwalya is Chairman of CAF Technical and Development Committee.
