Zambia to camp in Ghana for Nigeria

The Zambians have confirmed they will camp in Ghana ahead of their crunch 2018 World Cup qualifier against Nigeria next month, Extrasportsnigeria.com reports.
By the schedule the Chipolopolo will spend about a week in the football loving country to acclimatise ahead of the match. Ghana is less than 50 minutes by flight to Nigeria and enjoys similar weather conditions which the managers of the Chipolopolo believe will help prepare for the must-win game. A simple win for Nigeria guarantees the Super Eagles the only ticket to Russia 2018 for Group B while Zambia need a win in Uyo to tie with Nigeria on ten points which will then take the group down to the final match.
The Zambians also plan to head to Spain for two-week training before their foreign-based players join the rest of the squad in Ghana to finalise preparations.
The Zambia federation president Andrew Kamanga said, “So we’ll send them to Europe for two weeks. The players who have been playing COSAFA and CHAN will go first and then their colleagues will join them, then we will move into Ghana for a week then go into Nigeria and fight to win because we believe we have a chance to go to the World Cup.”
Nigeria defeated Zambia 2-1 in Ndola in the first match of the qualifying series for the World Cup. Eagles lead Group B with 10 points.
