AfroBasket Men: Nigeria beat Mali 90-67

D’Tigers appear to be regaining sharper paws as they defeated Mali 90-67 in another Group match played in Tunis as the AfroBasket for men continues to run in the preliminary stages in hosts countries Senegal and Tunisia, Exrtasportsnigeria.com reports.
Unlike their first game against Ivory Coast which they won by just all four quarters in this late Saturday match. The quarters ended for Nigeria at 20-16, 19-17, 27-18 and 24-16.
The Alex Nwora coached team had scoring also well shared out this time as 22 years old Ikechukwu Nwamu hit 22points, Rryant Mbamalu 17points and always consistent Ike Diogu 15points.
In some other matches played also on Saturday Senegal beat Egypt 87-52 while hosts Tunisia defeated Rwanda 78-60.
Nigeria’s next game is against Congo DR Sunday afternoon. Washington Wizards Daniel Ochefu who played his first match on Saturday is expected to play again against Congo.
D’Tigers are the tournament’s defending champions.
