Akpeyi heading for Belgium soon
Nigeria international Daniel Akpeyi could be heading to Europe with the next transfer opportunity. A close confidant has claimed that a Belgian side has made enquires about the keeper’s availability for transfer.
“It’s a tempting offer. I don’t know if it has got to the club yet, but it might convince them to let him go,” the contact told citizen.co.za.
And Kaizer Chiefs are primed to make a fortune out of their Nigerian goalkeeper this summer if it works out.
“I believe it is in the region of 40 to 45 million (rand) and that should be enough to sway their management,” he added.
Akpeyi has had a mixed adventure stay at the South African club, where he has become the first choice ahead of Itumeleng Khune. But the Amakhosi fans still prefer Khune who has been a household name in the country.
The attitude of the fans it is believed could make him jump at a chance to move away to a bigger league in Europe.
