Eagles Champagne ready for popping

Nigerian Football Federation officials have confirmed they are confident and ready to pop the Champagne as soon as the referee blows the final whistle for the World Cup qualifying match between the Super Eagles of Nigeria and Chipolopolo of Zambia on Saturday.

There’s huge confidence that the Nigeria will beat Zambia and pick a ticket to Russia 2018, Extrasportsnigeria.com reports. The NFF partnered with a wine company to provide cartoons of wine for the team to celebrate the anticipated victory.

A message on the cartoon of the wine reads, “We thank the President, and all Nigerians for supporting our teams and particularly the Governor of Akwa Ibom State and the people of other states.”

Nigeria lead Group B in the qualifying series with 10 points from four games – three ahead of second-placed Zambia whom the Eagles had beaten 2-1 in Ndola, Zambia in their very first match on the road to Russia. Eagles need just a win to qualify and make the last match against Algeria meaningless.
