FG Pays Falcons, Super Eagles Bonuses
The Nigerian Government has made available more than a million dollars to cover the entitlements of the country’s football teams especially the Super Falcons. The ladies who just the African cup have remained in their hotel in protest and made it public on Wednesday carrying placards at the National Assembly and the gates of the Presidential Villa. The Super Eagles who engaged in the Russia 2018 World Cup qualifiers are great beneficiaries also.
Exrtasportsnigeria.com learnt on Friday that the office of the Accountant General of the Federation released $1,173,820.00 to the Nigeria Football Federation to pay outstanding win bonus for Falcons and the Eagles.
The Falcons who won the African cup for the eighth time in Cameroon on December 3 had turned down pleas from the Nigeria Football Federation and the country’s sports minister, Solomon Dalung insisting they will have to get their cash before leaving the Federal Capital Territory. They were addressed by the Chief of Staff to President Muhammadu Buhari on, Abba Kyari during their protest on Wednesday. He assured them the President had ordered that they get their cash within 48 hours.
Eagles will be paid a win bonus of $5,000-a-player for the games they won against Zambia and Algeria in the Russia 2018 qualifiers. Nigeria, Cameroon, Algeria and Zambia are in the same group in the race to Russia with Nigeria leading with six points.
