Ighalo, Oshoala listed for Nigeria Pitch Awards
Manchester United striker Odion Ighalo, Barcelona striker Asisat Oshoala and Lille’s Victor Osimhen are among the nominees for the Nigeria Pitch Awards.
The details were given at a press conference held at the Ibis Hotel in the Ikeja area of Lagos on Friday. The award is in the nominees for the seventh edition.
The award endorsed by the Nigeria Football Federation had the weekend programme anchored by the NFF’s Director of Communication, Ademola Olajire.
The major honour would pitch Ighalo against Osimhen and Wilfred Ndidi of Leicester City for the King of the Pitch award.
African Women’s Player of the Year, Asisat Oshoala will take on Chiamaka Nnadozie and Onome Ebi for the Queen of the Pitch award.
A major highlight of the forthcoming award would see Super Falcon’s goalkeeper Nnadozie challenging the Eagles duo of Daniel Akpeyi and Francis Uzoho for the position of Nigeria’s best goalkeeper. This is the first time the contest would present a mix of gender.
