Mikel, Onazi, Ighalo arrive in Uyo

How many of the Nigerian football stars can you name? They are all in Uyo now and on the way to the Akwa Ibom state capital. Eagles captain Mikel Obi, Eddy Onazi, Odion Ighalo, Mikel Agu, William Troost-Ekong, Daniel Akpeyi, Ikechukwu Ezenwa, Oghenekaro Etebo, Dele Alampasu, Elderson Echiejile arrive all arrived in Uyo for the double-header World Cup qualifying match against the Indomitable Lions of Cameroon, Extrasportsnigeria.com reports. They were all spotted at the Abuja airport on Monday as they awaited the link flight to Uyo for Friday’s match.
Leicester City stars Ahmed Musa and Wilfred Ndidi were also in the group on Monday. The likes of Moses and Kelechi Iheanacho’s are also being awaited for the game. Moses confirmed on Sunday that he was on his way to Nigeria soon after his club Chelsea defeated Everton 2-0 in a Premier League match.
All the invited players are expected at Le Méridien Ibom Hotel & Golf Resort in Uyo later Monday.
And across the eastern borders of Nigeria, Cameroon started training for the match on Monday. Reports from Yaoundé confirmed that about 12 of the players trained with coach Hugo Broos Monday. Twenty-three players were called up by the reigning African champions for the game.
The first game is in Uyo on Friday and in Yaoundé on Tuesday, September 4.
