Moses, Iwobi, Ola Aina miss Eagles training

On Tuesday, the first day of the Super Eagles training in Uyo, 22 players, including two named on the standby list, were out for the pitch for the hour long work out, Extyrasportsnigeria.com reports. The training is in preparation for the 2018 World Cup qualifier against Zambia at the Godswill Akpabio Stadium on Saturday.

Chelsea’s Victor Moses and Ola Aina were missing from action. Arsenal winger who missed the game against Cameroon on the account of injury, Alex Iwobi, Moses Simon of Ghent and Chidozie Awaziem were also not on the pitch.

The Tuesday training was open to the media and spectators as announced by the Eagles media department on Monday. Gernot Rohr took charge of the two segments that lasted for about an hour.

The last batch of the players was being expected to arrive in Uyo on Tuesday.

Meanwhile the hosts Akwa Ibom State Government have said they are working hard for a hitch-free Saturday. They have announced free internet service at the stadium during the match. Security is expected to be tighter on Saturday after FIFA fined Nigeria $30,000 for pitch encroachment during the Nigeria/Cameroon match last month.
