Ndidi celebrates Leicester’s massive win

“Great win, massive support from the fans and happy to be on the scoresheet,” so Wilfred Ndidi wrote on his Twitter handle after Leicester City’s massive 3-0 win over Watford on Saturday in the English Premier League, Extrasportsnigeria.com reports.

The Nigerian midfielder scored in the 38th minute of the match to give the resurgent Foxes the lead against Watford at the King Power Stadium. Ndidi pounced on a loose ball following a poor clearance off a Danny Drinkwater effort. And as it was with his first goal for Leicester, he hit a right-footed shot into the roof of the net past Watford goalkeeper Heurelho Gomes.

Algeria’s Riyad Mahrez scored the second goal while Marc Albrighton added a late third as they won to take their points haul to 43 from 35 matches. The win on Saturday finally ensured they are completely safe from relegation this term.

The opening goal became Ndidi’s second league goal of the season for the team. The first was against Stoke City in the 2-0 victory at the King Power Stadium on April 1st following his arrival from Belgian side, KRC Genk for €17.6m in January transfer. Ndidi has so far scored three goals in 21 matches in all competitions for Leicester City.
