Super Eagles Technical adviser, Gernot Rohr has rebuffed claims suggesting Victor Moses snubbed the President of the Nigerian Football Federation, Amaju Pinnick, when they arrived in Yaoundé for the2018 FIFA World Cup qualifier against Cameroon.
Rohr spoke on a sports programme on Channels Television.
A video that has gone viral on social media shows Moses snubbing the outstretched hand of the NFF President, suggesting that all is not well between the two of them. The clip, Rohr insists was simply mischief and “fake news.”
He said, “Victor Moses did not see the hand of the President. We arrived at the dressing room, focused on the game, and that was what he had his mind on.
“Nobody has any problem with the President. He is our first supporter; there are pictures of the two of them in London having nice time together. There is no problem between the two of them.”
Rohr further affirmed that the Eagles remain focused on qualifying for Russia 2018 World Cup.
Nigeria currently sit on top of the table with ten points from the last five games, and will face Zambia on October 7th at the Godswill Akpabio Stadium, Uyo. A simply win will guarantee Nigeria a place at the World Cup.
