Sunshine Spikers win again

Sunshine Spikers got back to winning ways by beating Niger Brass 3-0 (25-13, 25-19, 25-21) on Day 3 at the National Volleyball League Division one holding in Bauchi, Nigeria, Extrasportsnigeria.com reports.

The Spikers who had lost to Nigeria Prisons on Day 2, wasted no time in dispatching the Minna based team.

Nigeria senior men’s team, Daniel Nathaniel led the spikes against Niger Brass while the combinations of Afun Idowu, Tochukwu Owoh and Amos Ohwode made it easier for the Spikers to overcome Niger.

The coach of the Sunshine team, Adelakun Adekalu said Sunshine Spikers would ensure they do not take chances against other teams at the league.

He said losing against Prisons on Day 2 was unfortunate.

Adekalu said, “I am happy the boys played well against Niger Brass today. The boys played according to my instructions and we can all see the result. Losing to Prison Boys was unfortunate but in the game of volleyball, anything can happen; the better team won the game.”

He said the team would not be distracted and will focused on how to qualify for the 2020 Nigeria Volleyball Premier League as well as topping the league.

Nigeria Prisons fought hard to beat ABM of Katsina 3-2 (23-25, 25-23, 25-14, 22-25, 15-5), while Offa VC overcame resilient Kada Kings 3-2 (25-18, 25-22, 20-25, 19-25, 15-12) in the last game of the day.
