Wikki Tourists midfield marshal Harrison Chimezie Madu has vowed that a comeback and undoubted success is guaranteed as they confront the Republic of Sierra Leone Armed Forces FC in the second leg fixture of the CAF Confederation Cup on Sunday.

The Bauchi side will secure passage to the next round, if they can beat the visitors by 3-0, 4-1 or at worst cancel out the two goals deficit from the first meeting and hope to overcome their guest via penalty kicks.

Sierra Leone Army club defeated the Elephants 2-0 in the first leg of their preliminary round tie last Sunday, leaving the Nigerians with a minimal chance of progressing to the next round.

But Harrison is confident of a turnaround considering the harmony in Wikki.

He said, “We are already united following a lengthy crisis talk. Our players have resolved that it was time to change the tidings. This is not about our coaches, because they are not going to play, it’s about the key actors and we have agreed to take the requisite steps. These are immediate reasons why we must come out scoring and protect our rear guard as well.”

The midfielder believes that taking your chances as they come in football is an ideal way to achieve result. That is why we must not be wasteful in front of goal or display any form of lukewarm attitude, we must utilize our chances.

“We are now saddled with another responsibility of facing the armies once more. The first test away availed us with a better knowledge of the team. Now is the time to make amends. It is an uphill task that requires a serious attention. I can assure you that we are braced up for this assignment,” stated Madu.

Harrison had been a key figure in the heart of Wikki midfield under the tutelage of Mohammed Baba Ganaru, having formed a cohesive partnership with the likes of Hassan Hussaini, Omo Johnson, Victor Alegbe and Chukwudi Samuel. He is expected to deliver the passes when they battle the Serra Leone Armed Forces.

Akwa United and Nasarawa United represented Nigeria last year in the CAF second tier league and both failed to reach the group stage of the annual championship.

Wikki Tourists vs RSLAF FC is scheduled for Sunday at the Abubakar Tafawa Balewa Stadium Bauchi from 4pm local time.
