Yakubu visits as Eagles round off training
Former Super Eagles prolific striker, Yakubu Ayegbeni, was a guest of the team in London on Wednesday as they rounded of their day’s training session. Elderson Echieijile, Ogu and some others celebrated the visit via their Twitter handle.
Echiejile tweeted the group photograph and added, “Great to see the great Yak! Nice atmosphere at training.”
Yakubu himself is based in England.
Eagles are billed to hold their final training session in London Thursday afternoon ahead of tonight’s friendly international against Senegal.
The session will be a light workout on the pitch of the Hive Stadium – the venue for the match.
On Wednesday 18 of the players trained with the rest expected in by Thursday morning. Only Victor Moses has been left out due to injury and it was quite late calling up a suitable replacement.
It was not certain how many of the Senegalese had settled into London as several reports late Tuesday and thereafter suggested many of the players had issues with visas in The UK.
The friendly match between Nigeria and Senegal will kick-off at 22h00 Thursday with the game against Burkina Faso holding the same venue and at the same time on Monday.
