- Abia Warriors end winless run in Lagos

Defending league Champions, Enugu Rangers continued on their quest to retain the title after they produced an all-round team performance for a 4-2 victory against their Eastern neighbours, Kun Khalifat. It was in an Oriental derby played on Sunday at the Dan Anyiam Stadium, Owerri.
The encounter, which was a EuroMatch Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) matchday 4 clash, saw the Flying Antelopes make it a back-to-back victory in Owerri, after their mid-week 2-1 win against Nasarawa United. By taken out Kun Khalifat in a great fashion through goals from Folarin Temitope and Adebayo Waheed to give the visitors a 2-1 half-time lead.
In the second half, the Fidelis Ilechukwu team were more formidable than their opponents to take a two-goal lead, after youngster Igwilo Chimobi took a brilliant individual run to dazzle past a couple of Kun Khalifat defenders to make it 3-1 in the 65th minute. He then scored his second of the game in the 90+4 minute as the defending champions secured valuable points with a 4-2 win over Kun Khalifat in Owerri.
In the other game, Umuahia-based side Abia Warriors bounced back to winning ways in a great fashion, as they ended their no-win streak to beat Sporting Lagos 2-0 at the Mobolaji Johnson Arena, Onikan Stadium in Lagos.
Ikoi Etta and Emeka Obioma’s second-half late goals were all the Umu Chineke needed to secure their first win of the EuroMatch Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) season.
The Imama Amapakabo-led side will be on the road once again this mid-week, when they travel to Kano for a matchday 5 clash against an in-form Barau FC, this Wednesday, at the Sani Abacha Stadium.
