The Chairman of the Nigeria Basketball Federation (NBBF) Electoral Committee, Dr. Lanre Glover, has announced that the deadline for candidates to submit all nomination forms for positions on the NBBF Board will close on Thursday, October 8 at 14:00 GMT.

Glover, who affirmed that the date and time is sacrosanct, described the stipulation on submission of nomination forms as one of the relevant provisions of the NBBF Elections. He urged candidates to comply with the directive as the committee will not entertain anyone who failed to meet the deadline.

The Chairman said the well-detailed timetable of the highly anticipated NBBF Elections was made known to the public and the basketball community, and stakeholders are eagerly awaiting the polls that will usher in the new board that oversees the administration of the game in Nigeria.

Glover reaffirmed the commitment of the electoral committee to a seamless process in order to achieve credible elections that will culminate with the NBBF elective congress scheduled to hold in Abuja on October 15.

The Electoral Committee, approved at the federation’s Extraordinary Congress held in Yola, Adamawa State, with 39 of the 44 delegates in attendance, boasts of seasoned professionals, technocrats and experienced sports administrators.

The Electoral Committee, chaired by Dr. Glover, has Femi Olugbile, Alhaji Sani Fema, Engr. Priscilla Ngozi Iroaganachi, Major General David Lubo, and Mallam Farouk Yarma as members, while Barrister Ichene Kalu serves as the secretary.
