●Halland hits fastest 60

The PSG juggernaut kept rolling as they won 4-2 in a chaotic game in Manchester on a Wednesday, October 14, 2026 night the world awaited that match of champions.

The European champions raced into a 3-0 lead thanks to goals from Desire Doue, Ousmane Dembele and Vitinha — becoming the first away team to score three first-half goals at the Etihad Stadium in this competition.

Erling Haaland twice provided a glimmer of hope for City, either side of a bizarre Maghnes Akliouche goal that somehow evaded Gianluigi Donnarumma. But PSG won it the end, despite having 12 fewer shots than the hosts and seeing a late Ferran Torres penalty saved.

He has earned a reputation as one of the world’s great shot-stoppers but Gianluigi Donnarumma has rarely shown it in his time at Manchester City.

But his error tonight turned out to be a pivotal moment. City had pulled the scoreline back to 3-1 and all the momentum was with them.

Then Donnarumma allowed Maghnes Akliouche’s shot in when he should have saved it and the balloon was burst.

Yes, City scored again, but from that moment the comeback never quite felt on.

Haaland hits 60

Erling Haaland became the quickest player to reach 60 Champions League goals tonight, doing so in 60 appearances.

The previous quickest to that mark was Lionel Messi, who needed a sluggish-by-comparison 80.

PSG midfielder Vitinha’s was near-omnipresent, proverbially covering every blade of grass.

He dropped deep in front of his defence to good effect, starting attacks and punching balls through the lines for his team-mates to collect, as well as scurrying around to ferry the ball forward too.

A brilliant all-court performance.
